Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Center for Excellence in Pain Research collects through this website, why, and what we do with it. It covers this website only. Information you give us in the clinic, over the phone, or as part of a research study is handled under our clinical and research privacy obligations, which are separate from this policy.
Effective 14 August 2026.
What we collect
We collect information only when you choose to send it to us. There are two forms on this site.
The contact form collects your name, email address, phone number if you provide one, and the message you write.
The call-back request form collects your name, email address, phone number, and the time of day you would like us to call.
Neither form asks for medical information, and we ask you not to include any. We do not collect your date of birth, your home address, or details of your health or diagnosis through this website. Anything clinical is discussed with you directly, not collected here.
We also record the network (IP) address a submission came from. We use this only to detect and block automated abuse of the forms.
What we do not collect
This site uses no advertising trackers, no analytics, and no third-party scripts. It sets no cookies on any public page, so there is no cookie banner and nothing to opt out of. We do not build profiles of visitors, and we do not track you across other websites.
A cookie is used only if you sign in to the private administration area, which is restricted to our own staff.
How we use it
We use what you send us to reply to you, and to arrange the call you asked for. That is all. We do not sell your information, we do not rent or trade it, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes.
How it is stored
Form submissions are encrypted before they are stored, using AES-256-GCM, and are readable only through the site's administration area by authorised members of our team. Everything you send travels over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
How long we keep it
We keep submissions only as long as we need them to respond to you and to arrange your call, after which they are deleted. [Counsel: a specific retention period should be stated here — for example "and in any event no longer than 12 months".]
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to information@centerforpainresearch.org and we will respond. Asking us to delete your details will end any call-back request you have made.
If you asked for a call and change your mind, tell us and we will remove your request.
Children
This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 through it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the effective date above. Material changes will be described here rather than made silently.
